UK Online is a new project which is funded by the Government and is running here at INTACT on Tuesdays from 10am - 11am and Fridays 9.30am - 12.30pm. The aim of UK Online is to help people who have never used a computer before or for anyone who has a limited knowledge and wants to learn more. There are different UK Online centres around the country, INTACT being one of them, but you can also learn in your own home. There are lots of reasons why people want to learn how to access the internet apart from the fact that it makes their lives better and easier but it can save time and money as well as being fun. The UK Online centres are run by people who can give you the support and help as you need it so that you can start using the internet and INTACT offers a friendly, safe and relaxing place to learn. There are a range of courses designed to suit your individual needs which are called Starting, Using and Understanding.

Starting is a starter course if you are completely new to computers and prefer to start off by learning the basics like using a keyboard and mouse.

Using is a Using Course which will help you to get to grips with the day to day internet use like sending emails and searching websites as well as other digital technologies

Understanding is for when you are up and running and ready for online activities such as internet banking, shopping, socialising or applying for a job
