INTACT (formerly INTAG) is a community based charity and has been operating in Ingol, Preston since 1993 . INTACT makes available a variety of public services to Ingol and Tantertons 7,300 citizens, ranging from provision of advice, information and support on a wide range of issues to leisure, educational and welfare services for people of all ages. INTACT provides a focal point for youth and community activities, a range of volunteering and other opportunities with facilities and rooms for rent.

Intact is a registered UK Online Centre with an I.T Suite fitted out with ten state of the art computers and free internet access. Intact are working hard to minimise digital social exclusion by offering this free service to anyone of any age who wants to learn how to use a computer, access the internet and send emails. According to reports there are 10 million adults in the UK who have never used the internet and a research carried out by the Joseph Rowntree Foundation says that an internet connection at home is essential to a good standard of living in the 21st century. Intact are keen to register as many people as possible onto the UK Online service and help get them on to the road to using a computer and the internet. The service which is available Monday to Friday works on one hour appointments and someone is available to support you should you need it. The courses start from learning the basics of using a keyboard and mouse and progresses onto sending emails, searching the internet to Genealogy and photography. I would recommend anyone of any age who has either never used a computer or wants to learn more, to ring Intact and register, as it opens up a whole new world. Having internet access can make life much easier as it offers services such as shopping online, booking holidays, selling unwanted items on Ebay to email family and friends. The internet is also a huge area for Educational needs and finding information at the touch of a button.
